Hi, My name is Niki
I live in Utah, I have a 6 year old daughter named Zoey. I named the shop after Zoey because she loved every single bead I made and wanted to keep them for herself, so we called them Zoey's Beads. There are so many beads now that she has learned to share but I always make a few extra beads just for Zoey to keep.
I have always been pretty crafty and creative so for Christmas I decided I wanted to make each person I work with a beaded Lanyard. I work at an Air Force Base so we have to have our badges on at all times while in the building. So I wanted to make something cute for each person. I started looking online for beads and found Lampwork and they looked so cute in the pictures, but they were mass produced so they didn't all look as cute as the picture when I got them. So I used them but I thought, I can learn to make beads and make even cuter ones. So i asked for a Lampwork kit that same Christmas and took a class at a local stained glass and bead shop in the area. It was so much fun, I just kept practicing and buying more and more colors of glass.
I started making beads in my Kitchen and had to clean up the mess everyday but it was worth all the fun. When we sold our house and started looking for a new house, I knew I was going to designate an area in the basement for my studio. When we found a house I was so excited to start my studio and bought more equipment.
So there's my story about how it all started. It's the funnest hobby, sometimes I stay awake at night thinking about what i can make. I'm always excited to show my friends and family my new beads (wonder if they ever get sick of seeing them). Thanks for taking a look, hope you find something you Like :)
